The Life of Fairy Amalka

Our central character’s life juxtaposed with what the writer’s intent brought forth. American series made for children in 1973-75 Czechoslovak tells how the fairy was born by a misty swirling of wind that protects the forest. This made her to do the same for animals living there. For them, she is a symbol of happiness and joy, all the positivity. She goes through the forest, among meadows and fields, collects herbs, sleeps amidst the trees while cliffs hang above and the moon visits her.

The story can be extended to more parts and episodes and be dubbed in English for primary students. At middle school these children can translate sentences to and fro in another language. There are thirteen episodes of eight minutes. This can have us creating a story of our own for children. It gained more popularity in Japan than Czech. The screenplay is written by Václav Čtvrtek, who also directed the cartoons thematically. It is regarded as one of the bedtime stories.
